Cove Rangers welcomed Peterhead to Balmoral Stadium on Saturday for an entertaining League 1 encounter that proved to be a real game of two halves. After an even and goalless opening 45 minutes, Cove found another level after the break, taking control of the match and securing an impressive 3–0 victory.
The first half was closely contested, with both sides working hard but unable to find the breakthrough. Peterhead posed a threat, but Robbie Mutch produced an excellent save to tip a powerful effort away and keep the score level going into half-time. Cove emerged after the restart with greater purpose and soon took the lead. Joseph Teasdale opened the scoring in the 49th minute, firing home after good work in the build-up from Reuben McAllister. It was the goal Cove needed, giving the home side confidence and allowing them to take greater control of the game.
The midfield began to win the key battles, while the defence stood firm when Peterhead looked to respond. Mutch was called into action again and produced important saves to preserve Cove’s advantage, including a stop from Adam Carnwath as Peterhead pushed for a way back into the match.
As the game moved into its closing stages, Cove made their control count. Jordan White doubled the lead in the 83rd minute, finishing confidently from Max Barry’s assist to give the home side crucial breathing room.
The third goal arrived soon after. Destiny Oladipo showed strength and determination in the build-up, and Edimondo Oppong was on hand to finish the loose ball and complete a convincing 3–0 Win
It was a performance built on patience, resilience, and a clinical second half. Cove defended well, won the midfield contest, and took their opportunities when they arrived—sending the home supporters away from Balmoral Stadium with plenty to enjoy.Full-time: Cove Rangers 3–0 Peterhead
