Cove Rangers claimed a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Aberdeen B at Balmoral Stadium on Saturday afternoon in the KDM Evolution Trophy, coming from behind to secure an important three points.

It was a competitive local fixture, with Aberdeen’s Emerging Talent Squad arriving with plenty of energy and quality. The young Dons took the lead shortly before half-time when Joseph Teasdale found the net in the 43rd minute, giving the visitors a 1–0 advantage at the break.

Second-half response

Cove Rangers returned for the second half with greater purpose and intensity. The equaliser came five minutes after the restart, as captain Jordan White converted from the penalty spot to bring the score back to 1–1.

With the game finely balanced, Cove continued to press and created the stronger share of opportunities. The hosts finished with 19 shots to Aberdeen B’s eight, and had 57% of possession across the match.

The decisive moment arrived in the 85th minute when Joe Chalmers scored to give Cove Rangers the lead and secure a deserved win in front of 329 supporters at Balmoral Stadium.

Capturing matchday

From the opening whistle to the late winner, I was pitchside to capture the action and the wider matchday atmosphere.

Football photography is about much more than the final result. It is about the tackles, concentration, celebrations, frustration, coaching staff, young supporters and the energy around the ground. This match had plenty of all of it, particularly after Cove’s late goal changed the mood around Balmoral Stadium.

The gallery includes action from across the fixture, along with moments from the stands and the supporters who help make every Cove Rangers home game special.
